Welcome

Welcome to the blog for Bethlehem Lutheran's 2nd grade!

First Wednesday of the Year!

Now that we are settling into our first week of school, we started our first math lessons!  Today we focused on problem solving and numbers and operations (addition and subtraction).  We also had a chance to share The Rainbow Fish and work on a book report as a class.  The book report was on the moral of the story.  Ask them what the moral of the story was!

After lunch, the students had their first Spanish session with Mrs. Borgmann.  Ask them about Nacho!

They also got a chance to start their All About Me book--look for this to come home in the coming weeks!

Reminders:
Gym shoes:  If your child hasn't brought their gym shoes to school yet, please send them by the end of the week.  Mr. Haynes starts them off in the gym pretty early so he can get their fitness testing done, so they are needed ASAP!
Computer Use Form:  Please make sure you go over this with your child, sign it, have them sign and date it, and bring it back soon.  I'd like all of these returned by the end of the week.
Hot Lunch:  Hot lunch order forms for September are due THIS FRIDAY, September 2.

About Mrs. Picker

RebekahPicker
Mrs. Rebekah Picker grew up just across the river in Hermiston, Oregon. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon with a degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with a minor in Professional Church Work. In May of 2014, Rebekah received her Master of Education degree from Heritage University. This is her seventh year at Bethlehem. Rebekah is married to David, who works as a sales representative in the Tri-Cities area. She also has a daughter and a son on the way (due in September). Fun fact: Rebekah is a mirror-image twin, meaning that she is right-handed and her identical twin is left-handed.
